Who is standing behind Acoustic Solid?

Karl Wirth is. He is an outstanding engineer who worked for fifteen years as the chief designer of medical instruments, and for many years as a designer and manufacturing engineer of audio equipment for German auto industries. He then founded his own company, Wirth Tonmaschinenbau GmbH in Banden-Wuettenberg, Germany. There he invented a revolutionary bearing that has almost zero coefficient of friction.

The parts, such as turntable plate, base, legs and others are made to the exact specifications by milling large chunks of aluminum blocks. The turntables made of such parts including the revolutionary bearing, Sideway-Lining-Cast, have a superb damping effect, no burning out, and near zero friction. The quality of sound coming out of the massive turntables has strikingly high transparency and is praised as nothing short of a miracle. It gives an illusion of listeners sitting in a live orchestra performance and being able to hear distinctly each instrument as if they are right in front of it. Acoustic Solid has received high accolades in numerous hi-fi magazines in many countries.

A solid aluminum plate is the standard for all turntables equipped with the Acoustic Solid. Enjoy the superb sound of music that comes alive from the Ortofon cartridges on your turntables.

Solid Royal

It is an impressive sight to behold. You can almost feel the quality of sound coming out of its solid mass and weight. It consists of a 70mm thick aluminum turntable weighing 15kg, an 80mm thick aluminum base, three legs and control parts. Its total weight is 55kg or 122-lb. On the top of the turning disk that supports the massive aluminum plate is a sheet of Teflon and on it is a sheet of ruby. It is luxurious. On the bottom of the spindle a ceramic ball is installed, and the spindle turns against the Sideway Lining Cast with near zero friction. A small synchronous motor made by the renowned Berger Lahr, Ltd. of Germany is capable of turning the heavy 15kg plate by a single thin thread. Its micro controller equipped with a quartz transmitter maintains a constant RPM regardless of voltage and frequency fluctuations. The turntable can hold three tonearms, and its three legs are height adjustable.. It includes a sheet of aquamarine genuine suede and of a 6mm thick acrylic.

Weight without tonearm:55kg

Solid Machine

This is a junior to the big brother, Solid Royal, and economical, but does not sacrifice in performance. It consists of a 60mm thick aluminum turntable weighing 13kg, and a 25mm thick base and smaller but strong three adjustable legs. On the top of the turning disk that supports the turntable plate is a sheet of Teflon. On the bottom of the spindle ceramic ball is installed. The Sideway-Lining-Cast bearing makes the spindle turn with near zero friction. A small synchronous motor made by the renowned Berger Lahr, Ltd. of Germany is capable of turning the heavy 13kg turntable by a single thin thread. A micro controller with the quartz transmitter maintains a constant RPM regardless of fluctuations in voltage and frequency. It delivers sound with high resolution, high transparency. It rivals the quality of the Solid Royal. It includes a sheet of aquamarine genuine suede and 6mm acrylic.

Weight without tonearm:24kg

Solid Wood MPX

This model has the same 15kg, 60mm thick aluminum plate with a sheet of Teflon used on the Solid Machine. All other mechanical moving parts are also same: the spindle with a ceramic ball, the Sideway Lining Cast bearing that makes the spindle to turn with near zero friction, micro controller with the quartz transmitter that maintains a constant RPM regardless of voltage and frequency fluctuations. The combination of these parts with the heavy aluminum plate and the 80mm thick high density wood base assures high fidelity sound that is well balanced from very high to very low frequency.

Weight without tonearm:25.5kg

Solid Classic Wood

This is the most economical model. It has a 35mm thick aluminum turntable weighing 7.5kg and 40mm thick MDF heavy weight wood base. All other critical moving parts are the same as those used on other models, such as the renowned Berger Lahr synchronous motor, micro controller with quartz transmitter, and the Sideway Lining Cast bearing. The combination of these parts and the heavy weight metal and the high-density wood base delivers superb sound that is well balanced from high to low frequency. It includes a sheet of beige genuine suede.

Weight without tonearm:16kg
